Wise in the community
Wise has been in Chipping Norton since it was founded in 1992, and we firmly believe it is our responsibility to give something back to the local community that has allowed us to thrive.
A number of our employees at Wise are involved in supporting Chipping Norton School, facilitating work experience, and giving talks on everything from careers to day-to-day money matters. We are currently restarting the Young Enterprise scheme within the school which will encourage students to learn about business, financial services, and managing their money.
Wise encourages every employee to support local charitable initiatives each year by providing a volunteer day which they can use to help a charity of their own choosing. Over the last year our employees have been found packing bags in Chipping Norton Co-Op to raise money for Katharine House Hospice, and setting up at the Brailes Horse Show to raise money for the village it is held in.
Wise is proud to support a variety of local charities through our sponsorship programme.
- Chipping Norton Theatre – The theatre is at the heart of the creative community in the town, hosting, co-producing and supporting shows, performances, culture and education
- Lawrence Home Nursing Team – The nursing team provides emotional and practical support to terminally ill patients who wish to spend their last days at home. The team have provided specialist care to over 560 patients
- Chipping Norton Literature Festival – the Chip Lit Fest is hosted each year in April. It hosts a variety of authors, from the best known (Brian Blessed Absolute Pandemonium, Joanne Harris Chocolat) to the up-and-coming to the brand new. It not only instils an ongoing love of reading, it attracts huge numbers of people to Chipping Norton, supporting the local community and businesses
- Katharine House Hospice – Katharine House provides specialist care to the terminally ill, in the hospice building, at the local Horton hospital, and in the patient’s own home. The hospice team not only cares for the patient, but provides support to their family and friends as well.
