Alex Rae

Alex joined Wise in June 2000 as a client services administrator. Ever dedicated to the business she became a financial planner, looking after a much loved client base. As Wise has grown, due to her experience and adaptability, she has naturally progressed into management. Employee engagement is at the heart of Alex’s day to day activities with her main objective being to ensure the future resilience and wellbeing of everyone here at Wise.

Alex holds a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and routinely attends a range of courses in business and human resource management. 

Outside of Wise, Alex can regularly be seen chauffeuring her daughter to training sessions and competitions in a variety of sporting activities.

Amanda Sullivan

Amanda joined Wise Investment in 2004 as the company’s accounts controller, becoming our chief financial officer in 2015.  Day to day, Amanda oversees the company’s finances and provides monthly and yearly financial management information. A pivotal aspect of her role is implementing and managing the business budgetary policy and the strategic financial decisions of the business.

Prior to joining Wise, Amanda trained and worked in an accountancy practice. She has now amassed over twelve years in financial services and twenty years of financial management experience, working in various industries including IT, Design and Hospitality.

Outside of Wise, Amanda nurtures her creativity by drawing, painting and spending time with her daughter.

Financial Planning

Angus Aston

Angus joined Wise in March 2004 as a financial planner.  He enjoys developing strong long-term relationships with clients, helping them plan for retirement and managing their investments.  Angus particularly likes the technical challenges involved in pensions advice and inheritance tax planning. 

Angus supervises and supports staff training, promoting best practice within the business, thus enhancing the capability of his colleagues.  He works collectively with the board to develop business strategy and is instrumental in achieving these strategic aims of the business.

Angus holds a Law degree (LLB Hons) from Exeter University, a Diploma in Financial Planning, plus Advanced Diploma exams in Pensions and Tax & Trusts.  Prior to joining Wise he was a mortgage adviser, and worked in the City for a number of years following University.

Angus is married with two children and enjoys photography, film, reading, walking, running, golf and travel.

Jamal Moche

Jamal joined Wise Investment in 2007 as a client services administrator. Since completing his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning he has established a successful career here at Wise as a financial planner.

Jamal’s main objective is to help clients achieve their dreams through a detailed assessment of their objectives. Often out visiting clients, his main strength is the natural rapport he builds, and through the establishment of this trust Jamal is able to offer our clients a comprehensive financial planning service.

He is working towards the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning with the view to becoming a Chartered Financial Planner. 

Outside of Wise, Jamal enjoys travelling, playing the piano and cycling.

James Payne

James joined Wise Investment in March 2006 as a financial planner. Prior to this James was an investment analyst, but he found he liked to work with people as well as spreadsheets, so moved into financial planning. He now utilises both skill sets, as a financial planner advising our clients on a range of areas, and as a portfolio manager reviewing and selecting the funds we invest in. 

James thrives on engaging with clients, ensuring they reach their desired financial objectives. In his capacity as an elected employee ownership trustee, James works collectively with the board to ensure representation of all the employees’ views.  As part of the client services executive team, he takes great pleasure and pride in planning and guiding the future direction of Wise Investment.   

James graduated from Bournemouth University with a BA (Hons) in Financial Services. He followed this with a post graduate qualification with the Institute of Investment Management and Research to become an Associate of the CFA Society of the UK. Whilst at Wise, he has attained the status of Certified Member of the Personal Finance Society.

With four children, James finds most of his spare time is accounted for on his behalf. When time allows, he enjoys eating out and the occasional night at the theatre. 

Joe Cooper

Joe joined Wise Investment in July 2016 bringing with him over 10 years of experience as a financial planner across a broad spectrum of client profiles.

 

As a financial planner at Wise, Joe helps clients to achieve their goals through a sound initial financial plan backed up with ongoing monitoring and management. He particularly enjoys the variety of people he meets and developing those relationships in order to fully understand a client’s needs.

 

Joe graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies, holds the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning and is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.

 

With a very young family, Joe finds much of his spare time is spent out on daytrips and away for weekends at the seaside. He hopes to get back into more adventurous pursuits such as mountain biking and trekking once his son and daughter are a little older.

Karen Craig

Karen joined Wise Investment in January 2016. She comes to Wise with twenty years of experience in the financial services industry.  Karen works with her clients on all aspects of financial planning, with a particular interest in retirement options. 

Karen has benefited from having worked for a large firm of advisers, and several retails banks. She holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

Karen spends copious amounts of time training her rescue dog, which is both a work in progress and a labour of love. Spending time with her grown-up children and two small granddaughters consumes most of Karen’s free time but she does fit in some baking, gardening and also a little knitting.

Administration

Chris Kerridge

Chris joined Wise Investment in May 2015, having previously worked for Capita Life & Pensions for three years.  He brings a strong customer service ethos to Wise, really putting the clients at the heart of his every day activity.

Chris obtained his BSc in Motorsport Technology from Oxford Brookes. He is a big fan of Motorsport, mainly F1 and BTCC and is an MSA Marshal for Hillclimb. Football is also a lifelong passion and supports his hometown club Cheltenham Town FC.

Heidi Sparkes

Heidi joined Wise in May 2016, having previously worked as an administrator for a number of well-known local businesses.

She is keen to get to know her clients and, in particular, develop strong professional relationships that enable her to help them as effectively as possible.

In addition to her extensive administrative experience, Heidi has a degree in Architecture from Coventry University. She is now looking forward to developing her knowledge of the financial services industry and eventually achieving the professional qualifications.

Outside of Wise, Heidi enjoys leisure rides with her horse, Molly, and visiting places of historical and cultural importance both at home and abroad. 

Kerri Grant

Kerri joined Wise Investment in 2002 as a client services administrator having previously worked in an administration role in retail.

With the growth of the company, Kerri’s role has developed and she is now team leader for the client services department. She ensures the smooth running of the client services team through workflow prioritisation, staff training & development, as well as documenting and updating processes. Kerri thrives on building strong relationships with clients and ensuring that we meet client expectations.  

Kerri is an elected employee ownership trustee who works collaboratively with the board to represent our employees’ views. Her passion lies in employee engagement which has increased employee commitment and well-being.

Outside of Wise Kerri enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and beloved pet rabbit! She enjoys the outdoors, has a real interest in wildlife and conservation, particularly marine life and UK wildlife. She also loves to bake! 

Michelle Owen

Michelle joined Wise Investment in July 2010, bringing with her nearly a decade of experience in the financial services industry.

Michelle focuses her time on supporting the financial planners and technical analysts in providing our clients with a full financial planning service. Her role incorporates all aspects from processing new business to taking care of clients existing portfolios.  She particularly enjoys assisting clients with queries, and helping out other members of the team as required. 

Michelle graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a BA in Business and Management. 

As a mum to a vivacious toddler Michelle spends much of her free time on the move.

Siobhan Johnson

Siobhan joined Wise Investment in 2004, having previously worked in administration for both private and public sector organisations. She brings a wealth of experience to her role enabling her to support her colleagues in this close knit team to comply with all in-house and FCA regulations.

Although her role can be challenging at times, Siobhan enjoys the variety and spontaneity that you experience on a daily basis.

Siobhan trained at Marlborough Secretarial College in Oxford, completing RSA and City & Guilds secretarial qualifications. She also holds qualifications in IBT 3, and NVQ Level 3 in Administration  

Siobhan has a passion for horse riding, having achieved Advanced Level in Affiliated Dressage. She also enjoys gardening, travel and cooking.

Steph Blake

Steph joined Wise Investment in July 2015.   She is enjoying learning about the business and has firmly establishing herself within the client services team. 

Having a keen eye for detail, she is very well suited to working with figures, with a panache for checking, recording and reconciling transactions. Steph especially enjoys ensuring client records are kept up-to-date, getting a real sense of satisfaction from a job well done. She proactively drives her professional development, recently using her staff training budget to partake in computer based skills course. In the past year she has used her volunteer day to raise money for Katherine House Hospice, a cause very close to her heart.

Outside of Wise, Steph enjoys walking, reading and exploring new places both in this country and abroad. 

Technical Team

Claire Brain

Claire joined Wise Investment in April 2010 as a Paraplanner. However, with a keen interest in compliance and an eye for the bigger picture, she found her skills better suited to operations and compliance roles.


Claire spends her time ensuring the smooth running and development of many of our services. Operations includes capital gains tax analysis, monitoring ISA allowances, sending of valuations, tax packs and income schedules as well as product and provider research and monitoring of our Managed Portfolio range.


Claire holds the CISI Diploma in Investment Compliance, CII Diploma in Financial Planning and Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management. She is currently working towards the CII Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.


Claire has worked in the financial services industry since 2002, coming to Wise from the adviser network, Sesame Bankhall Group. Latterly as an investment researcher, Claire spent her time analysing funds, investment trusts, specialist investments and investment bonds.


Outside of Wise, Claire enjoys delighting her friends and family with her cooking, going swimming, travelling, eating out and going on the occasional spa weekend with a good book.

Heather Cooper-Harris

Heather joined Wise in 1996 as an administrator and holds the full CII Certificate in Financial Planning. Throughout her twenty years here she has both shaped and grown with the business. As board representative for the client services team, Heather works collaboratively with her colleagues to decide what services to provide and how best to provide them.

In her role as client services manager, Heather supports her team to achieve the efficient day-to-day running of the client services business, sometimes with ‘hands on’ administrative tasks in order to stay connected to the clients, as they are at the heart of what we do here at Wise.

Heather’s passion is to deliver to our clients the type of service that we would like to receive ourselves. This is what drives her everyday activities.  

Outside of Wise, Heather’s big loves are Formula 1 and exotic holidays.  Being an animal lover, she sponsors puppies at Dogs for Good and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, and a donkey at the Donkey Sanctuary in Devon, which she has been visiting since childhood.

Jo Radcliffe

Jo joined Wise Investment in January 2013 as a client services administrator.  She progressed to the role of technical assistant supporting the financial planners with research and analysis which meets our clients needs.

Having a keen eye for detail, she has excelled in her current role.   Jo enjoys learning about and understanding a client’s specific requirements and gets great satisfaction from helping them to achieve their goals. 

Jo is working towards a Certificate in Financial Planning, with a view to later achieving a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. 

Jo previously worked as a dispatch operator for the Police, following a two year role as an emergency call handler. A keen horse rider, she can often be found meandering the bridleways of Warwickshire with her ex-racehorse. Jo is on the committee for the charitable Brailes Horse Show, helping to organise and set up the event each year. 

Kelly Guttridge

Kelly joined Wise Investment in 2013 as a technical report writer.  She has since progressed into the role of technical assistant, undertaking technical research and reports for individual clients.

She assists our financial planners with implementing financial plans, and provides periodic updates for staff and clients on legislative changes and proposals, such as the annual Budget Summary. Professionally, Kelly enjoys the sense of achievement felt upon completing client reports, particularly where it is more complex or involves pensions.

In her role as marketing assistant she is the programme lead for our Schools Partnership project which enables her colleagues to facilitate work experience, give talks to sixth formers and partake in the Young Enterprise scheme.

Kelly graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a BA (Hons) in Law and Politics and is now working towards a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

When she isn’t working or studying, Kelly enjoys reading, cooking, swimming and sitting down with a good film. Eventually she would like to be fluent enough in Japanese to no longer need subtitles!
