On Thursday 9th June, I went the Employee Ownership Association (EOA) Summer Dinner with our COO, Alex Rae. The dinner was held at the Houses of Parliament and was attended by over 150 employee owners from across the UK.
The event was both enjoyable and informative. It provided an excellent opportunity to meet other EOA members, and share ideas and stories of becoming employee owned.
The keynote speaker was Lord Mark Price, the newly appointed Minister for Trade and Investment, who applauded the employee ownership community as a key ingredient of a more sustainable economy and for engaging staff as a route to improving productivity.
The evening concluded with a speech from EOA Chief Executive, Deb Oxley, who spoke about change in business following the referendum and ensuring that more business owners and entrepreneurs are made aware of employee ownership.
As an employee owned company, we feel extremely lucky and enthusiastic about being involved in the future of the business. We’re all very much looking forward to celebrating EO Day on the 1st of July.
